Synopsis

Bro King Aquaman is thrust into fighting Black Manta after he finds new technology that threatens both land life and sea life.

Review

I am so mad at how dumb this movie is. Scene stolen from Star Wars, the Cantina line and the Jabba the Hut intro scene, the characters from Street Sharks, and lastly "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids". It was corny, bro-y, and just over the top stupid.

I don't think this is any part to do with the original plan or due to the acting of the individuals. I believe between Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson, there is real dedication to their craft, but I don't think the writing could survive the world that happened. The acting by these two and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is honestly the bright spot in this CGI heavy cluster.

I think where this movie failed was due to the public lashing that Amber Herd received during the Depp v Heard trial which brought to light just how crappy and manipulative of a woman she was. With the public outcry for her to be removed, I think the studio worked to make changes that might bring in The Flash
multiverse things, but then that was scrapped because of how poorly that movie did. Between rewrites and just overall a lack of direction for the overall DCEU series, I think this movie is the epitome of how bad this extended universe was conceived and destroyed by the same people.

My Rating

Bro Jason Momoa was really annoying. I think mainly the dude is silly and fun, but damn he was just weird this time. It really took away form the movie along with all the other crap I mentioned above. It was a 4.

Parental Rating

Mom is out. There is nothing here of value except maybe that brothers can learn to love each other after a fight. So maybe she is in, but it isn't enough to bring value to the movie. As for my dad, I think he would watch it but not enjoy it. It is a great plane movie. Based on the criteria, no sex, no blood/gore, no real language. The story is crap and entertainment is low. I am wanting to say disapproved by both just because of that, but I think I am going to have to put approved by my dad for the rules.
