How I Met Your Mother
This show ended a decade ago and while some of the pop culture references are a bit dated, the rest of the show has really held up. The cast is outstanding and after years of working together, it really shows the amount of love and faith they had in each other.
Synopsis
The longest story of how one dude met one lady and all the friendly shenanigans that a group of friends have in attempting to meet that woman.
Review
This show ended a decade ago and while some of the pop culture references are a bit dated, the rest of the show has really held up. The cast is outstanding and after years of working together, it really shows the amount of love and faith they had in each other.
The show takes place in the same sound studio over the years and they do a fantastic job of making it a living place. The extras having their own story and the weaving in and out of characters is really refreshing. The story is complex and while it can be very repetitive and there are quite a few filler episodes, those episodes are still entertaining and you really don't mind watching them.
I have to say that I rewatched this show after reading Neil Patrick Harris's choose your own autobiography book and reminded me of the amount of work that got put into this show and how much care they have for each other. I feel like I have said that before, but the final couple episodes really stand out and just how much they felt having the show be over. That is true dedication.
I want to once again talk about this show's "controversial" ending and tell everyone they are wrong. This was a perfect ending for a 9 year long show. I will say that I have only seen the adjusted episode and even without the conversation on the train station, it was still an almost perfect wrap-up. Providing some beautiful evidence of relationships.
My Rating
This show could have been a 10, however the number of filler and repetitive problems really brings down this show. It is an 8, but I really want it to be more. It is one of my favorite endings of a TV show after a truly enjoyable series.
Parental Rating
Drinking and "Sandwiches" are constant in this show. Outside of that, the humor is very low brow so I think my mom is out even with it being "family" oriented. Also, in general this doesn't fit my dad's cup of tea. They are also a little old for this show. Rejected by both.
