Outlaw King
This is an amazing movie with an accelerated telling of years of battle against the English for the freedom of Scotland. We all know Mel Gibson's famous telling of William Wallace in Braveheart because we have all at once used the "FREEEEEEDOOOM" gif when leaving for the weekend.
Synopsis
Based on the true story of Robert the Bruce after being defeated by King Edward has a change of heart to his surrender. After the death of a rival for the Scottish throne, Robert must face impossible odds both from his own countrymen and the English who want Scotland under their thumb.

This story is basically the continuation of that story and Chris Pine nails it. We know quite a bit about this story from both sides and having heard it multiple times, I can see the accuracies and where they skipped to tell a complete story. If you go to Scotland you can see the battleground where this movie ends.
I feel the setting and the acting are just so good for how short this movie is and on that note, it is really sad that it is so short. There is so much story to tell. The fighting is limited and the numbers are really narrow as far as scale, but tactics and brutality are real. The fighting itself is pretty good.
My Rating
I really enjoyed this movie. For being something I thought would be "Meh" was outstanding. I was in Scotland in 2018 and the visuals of this movie brought me back and at times brought me to tears with the beauty. It is an almost perfect movie. Its a 9 only because the movie is slow for how short the movie is, but I feel that if it was longer it could have been better paced.
Parental Rating
So there is sex, language, violence, gore, and nudity (Both sexes are on display at time). The nudity and sex is limited, nothing crazy graphic. My mom I think is out because of this and the gore. The language is limited and also covered in accents which I think subconsciously makes it easier for my dad. Approved by Dad.
