Sicario
Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, and Josh Brolin sell this movie like there is no tomorrow. It is one of my favorite movies and I am happy to watch it again when people ask about it.
Synopsis
An FBI agent played by Emily Blunt is thrown into the world of narcotics and cartels by a task force to hunt down those that hurt her team. Or is that the reason she is pressed onto the team.

Each of these characters do a fantastic job of presenting their story of the character. At no time did I feel that these three fell out of step. However, some of the side characters I felt went from being super passive to super aggressive and it makes me hate the character. Bad writing, not bad acting. Granted they are lawyers so maybe it is just a lawyer thing. I'll have to ask my friends.
The story is compelling and does a great job of pulling you into that world of cartels, drugs, and mules. It is slow and shadowy at times, but the action points do a great job of pulling you in. I mean, that border crossing scene. Chef Kiss.
My Rating
As you can tell I gush on this movie. It is a solid movie that I felt really went under the radar when it first released in 2015. I am giving it a 9, but there is a point of bias so it is probably an 8. The pacing is off at times and some of the character writing could use some love. It is still a 9 though. Number 3 has been written so they say.
Parental Rating
HAHA My mom is out. Language, violence, and death galore. My dad would watch it but complain about the amount of swear words. He'd enjoy it though.
