Review
I have talked about John David Washington being an amazing actor in both Tenet and BlacKkKlansman and this movie is far better than those. Also I had no idea he was Denzel Washington's son and damn does it show. He is a power house. I think that is really what shows in this movie is the caliber across the board of the acting team. I am going to talk about Ken Watanabe in The Last Samurai, but this dude constantly swings for the fences and nails it. More importantly to all of the adult acting staff, Madeleine Yuna Voyles does a phenomenal job and I cannot wait to see her in more.
In the department of settings, what a way to showcase Southeast Asia. It was honestly so beautiful and what a just simple way to introduce a part of the world a lot of people won't ever see.
As for the story it is a wonderful story that truly reaches beyond the scope of just AI. You can look very plainly and see the idea that "Something new is wrong" and that is the argument. AI is bad and is the enemy using the idea of fear that "We are the Neanderthals' now"
My Rating
This is a must watch. I don't understand why it was given a 7 when in reality it is an easy 9. The action is good, the story is good, the world building is awesome. You need to watch this especially with the acting being so so good.
Parental Rating
Language, some nudity, and violence. Dad approves without thought and Mom will approve as well because this is a story about family. A full story about the love we have for those we choose to be close to us in an effort to save more.
