Sicario Day of the Soldado
So what drew people to the original movie was the awesome border crossing scene. The movement and quick action was outstanding. This movie has a scene that while cool, is nothing like it. It is probably the most memorable scene from the movie with the exception of the opening scene.

Review
So what drew people to the original movie was the awesome border crossing scene. The movement and quick action was outstanding. This movie has a scene that while cool, is nothing like it. It is probably the most memorable scene from the movie with the exception of the opening scene. Specifically I am talking about the scene from the trailers where Benicio Del Toro does that cool, but very stupid in the fact that 90% of the shots would miss.
Outside of the that, the movie is entertaining, but it is not the first one. I don't typically compare a movie against itself, but because this movies lack of continued story and action development, there may not be a third one which I want to complete the story.
In general, the story itself is good, but Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro must have a very sore back from carrying this flag pole of a movie. The girl who plays the drug dealer's daughter I thought was good, but you could have taken her out of the story and plugged anything or anyone else in and it wouldn't really have changed things. I know that she plays a central plot point, but really any item that mattered to the kingpin would have served the same plot carry method. It didn't need to be this girl who doesn't add much to the story.
My Rating
This is a 7 because the gun fight scenes are as forgettable as the entire movie which is what the first movie made its money on. Also, what saves this at a 7 is the legitimate sign language that Del Torro uses in the movie to communicate at times. Any movie that takes the time to do this correctly has a special place in my heart. Also the attention to detail about where people get shot is really nice, but the story is lack luster and it doesn't fill or flow that well.
Parental Rating
Oh goodness. Language and violence throughout. Mom is out completely and Dad is on the border, but unless it is with one of his sons or on TV, the language will make him turn it off. Rejected by both.
